Chicken Kasa

Diginmeal presents an Odia dish that can go well with the roti or parathas dry Chicken masala. (Chicken Kasa)


Chicken – 1Kg

Onion – 2 big sized, finely chopped

Ginger – 1 inch long

Garlic – 1 whole

Dried Red Chillies – 3 pieces

Green Chillies -4 pieces

Coriander Powder – 2 tsp

Red Chili Powder – 2 tsp as per your taste

Turmeric Powder – 2 tsp

Salt – According to taste

Mustard Oil – 5 tbsp

Cumin Seeds – 1 tsp

Cumin Powder – 2 tsp

Bay Leaves – 1

Green Cardamom – 2 pieces

Chicken Masala-1.5 tsp

Cinnamon – 1 long stick

Garam Masala – 1 tsp Homemade will be better for taste Or take Khada Masala

Steps of Preparation:

1.Wash the chicken thoroughly and marinate with 1 tsp of salt, 1 tsp of turmeric, and 1 tsp of red chili powder for 20 mins.

2.Now in the meantime make a coarse paste of Ginger, Garlic, and dried red chili with 1-2 tsp of water.

3.Heat a wide vessel if non-Stick will be better, add the khada masala and fry a little bit.

4.Add the Mustard Oil and let it get heated in the same pan.

5.Then add the whole spices (Bay leaves, Green Cardamom, Cinnamon stick, and the cumin seeds and let it cook for a minute so that it oozes the perfect flavor to the gravy.

6. Now need to add the chopped onions and fry until it turns brown in color.

7. Add the ginger and garlic paste prepared to the cooked onion let it cook till the raw smell of the ginger and garlic is fading.

8.Now add the marinated chicken and cover the lid.

9.After 5-10 mins add the chicken masala and stir it will.

10.Let the chicken be cooked in medium flame once it is dry and cooked uniformly and turn off the gas and add the garam masala powder and stir it well.

11. Add the Coriander leaves chopped.

Serve the Chicken Dish will Roti, Parathas.
