Semiya Upma

It's a very popular breakfast in South India.It made of Vermicelli. It's Very Tasty and Healthy Too. We can add this dish as in weight loss too.Presented by :

Ingredients :


Serve for 2-3 People :

3 cups of Vermicelli

5 tablespoon Oil

½ Tsp Jeera

½ Tsp Mustard Seeds

1tsp Chana Dal

1 cup Peanuts

1 inch of Ginger

½ tsp Turmeric Powder

8-10 Curry Leaves

2 chili

1 Medium Finely Chopped Onion

2 tbsp Peas

2 tbsp finely chopped Carrot

2 tbsp finely chopped Bins

2 tbsp finely chopped Capsicum

½ Lemon

3 Spoon finely chopped Coriander Leaf.


Methods :


1. In Pan, Take Vermicelli and roast until it turns brown with one spoon of Oil.

2. Now add a little more water, ½ tsp of Salt and boil it for 2 mins(until it gets a little soft )

3. Drain off water and allow it to get cool.

4. Now take a Pan Heat, add 4 tsp of Oil, splutter Jeera Seeds, Mustard Seeds, chana dal, and Fry for 1 min.

5. Then add few curry leaves, chili, and Peanuts, and fry until it turns crunchy on low flame.

6. Then add ginger and sauté it.

7. Add Onion and sauté it for 1 min.

8. Then add all the above vegetables and sauté it.

9. Add turmeric powder and salt as required and fry until it gets boiled on low flame .

10. Once vegetables get boiled then add cooked Semiya and Mix it well for 1-2 mins (Semiya should not get mashed ) .

11. Add Lemon Juice and Coriander leaf and Mix it .

12. Its ready to serve Hot with Dal Chatani or Sauce.
